Mini-Break

I just got back from what I guess you could call a mini-break.  I've been in Ottawa for the past couple days taking care of some work stuff - which I think is pretty darn cool. I've been lucky enough to visit the nations capitol on average once a month for work for the last little while...normally my days there are extremely busy and there really isn't much down time.  THIS time however...I found myself with a whole two hours free one morning (which of course I needed to take advantage of!)

I decided I would check out the National Art Gallery - and was SOOO happy that I did!!!

The current temporary exhibit - is a display of a number of RON MUECK'S recent works. 

And let me just tell you...it was perhaps one of the coolest exhibits I have ever seen.  I walked through a few times, taking a good look at each work - and was just amazed.  I honestly thought these sculptures were going to come to life!  I stood beside the sculpture of "Big Man" (posted above) and I was certain he was going to turn his head and start talking to me.  His sculptures range from very small to extremely big - and you couldn't help but stare and investigate each tiny little detail.

Anyhow...it was a great two days away and I'm once again happy to be home! (It's amazing how much one can miss their bed) If you have a chance take a look at Mueck's website - his stuff is extremely cool.

I can't get to sleep

March FIrst.

I have not blogged in over a month and I can't tell you how weird that seems to me!!

I used to blog and blog and blog...and now it just doesn't seem so high on the list of things to do.

This has been a weird month for me...

I'm not even quite sure where to start....

I've been off work for a month. 

My health was not too hot and I was running on empty....a trip to the doctor lead me to taking this last month off work so I could get myself and my health back up to snuff!

I spent a lot of time resting and just kinda taking care of myself.

I disconnected from the world....because I just couldn't handle being reachable 24 hours a day. My computer died (literally) the day I was ordered off work.  I unplugged my cell phone....and I screened my calls for days. 

I liked it.  (I felt guilty about it for a bit but...I liked it!)

I have officially been back to work for about a week now.  (I like being off)

I'm on modified duties for a bit until I get back into a routine and make sure I'm really 100%.

THANK YOU SOO MUCH to my friends and family who have been INCREDIBLY supportive through this. "The Boy" who has been extremely patient, caring, and who's just been there.  It has meant the world to me.  Without all of you...I'd be a big mess!! SO thanks!
